Information We Collect

When you use Denareon, we collect various types of information to provide and secure our services:

  • Personal Information: Includes your name, email address, and authentication credentials (such as OAuth identifiers from Apple or Google).
  • Financial Information: We do not store your banking login credentials. With your authorization, we use secure, read-only connections via our partners (Plaid, Stripe, Teller, TrueLayer, and Belvo) to access account details, balances, transaction history, and account identifiers when available.
  • Device & Usage Data: On public marketing pages only, we use Umami (a privacy-oriented, cookieless analytics provider) to collect aggregated pageviews—such as browser type and referring page—to understand how visitors find our site. We do not use Umami inside the signed-in app. Inside the app, Denareon may record first-party, privacy-scrubbed activation events such as onboarding progress, checkout completion, account connection milestones, and transaction-import milestones; these events do not include emails, names, IP addresses, raw user agents, account identifiers, balances, institution names, transaction IDs, descriptions, or full URLs. We may also collect device identifiers, IP addresses, and usage patterns as needed to optimize performance, debug issues, and ensure security.
  • Biometric Data: If you use biometric authentication (e.g., FaceID/TouchID) to lock the app, this data is processed locally by your device. We do not transmit or store your raw biometric data on our servers.

How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information for the following core purposes:

  • To provide, maintain, and improve the Denareon dashboard experience, including aggregating your linked accounts.
  • To categorize transactions, track budgets, and calculate net worth smoothly.
  • To protect against fraud, unauthorized access, and ensure structural stability of our platform.
  • To communicate with you regarding service updates, security alerts, and support requests.

Before initiating a connected-account flow, Denareon records your consent to collect, process, and store the financial data needed for that connection. You can disconnect linked accounts in Settings.

How We Share Information

We believe your financial data is exactly that—yours. We do not rent, sell, or trade your personal information to third parties. Information is only shared under these precise conditions:

  • Service Providers: We share data strictly to secure operations (e.g., hosting servers, financial integration partners like Plaid/Stripe/Teller/TrueLayer/Belvo, and Umami for aggregated marketing page analytics on public pages only).
  • Legal Obligations: We may disclose information if required to do so by a subpoena, court order, or similar legal procedure.
  • Business Transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be securely transferred alongside those assets.

Data Security

We implement strict organizational, technical, and physical security measures. All data stored is encrypted at rest using industry-standard AES-256 encryption. Data transferred between our servers, your localized app, and our financial partners is encrypted in transit using TLS 1.3. While no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure, we apply bank-grade protective methodologies across our entire infrastructure.

Data Retention & Deletion

We retain your personal and financial information only for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you with the services. If you choose to delete your account, we will purge all associated financial connection tokens, transaction history, and personal identifiers within 30 days, unless a longer retention period is required by law (e.g., for accounting or anti-fraud protocols).

Your Privacy Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction (e.g., GDPR in Europe, CCPA in California), you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you.
  • Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information.
  • Request the deletion of your personal data ("Right to be Forgotten").
  • Opt-out of specific data collection practices.

To exercise these rights, please contact us directly.
